The middle eastern theme makes it my favourite map, but it's not technically as good as the 2 above it.ĭiyala - One of the best looking maps in the game IMHO, a little small, and the large town will cause frame rate issues, but we still had a ton of fun fighting across the map. Takistan - Great frame rate, nicely balanced with airfields at both ends, almost every building can be entered, a good balance between green zones and dessert, some great valleys to fight in. If Malden was the same size as Alitis it would be #1 in my books. Malden2035 - a slightly different feel to Altis, with more dominant hills, but the towns feel even better than Altis. Every time we run a mission on Altis without fail someone comments they forgot how great the map is. It's kind of a specialized map, but if it's going to bring to life any scenario that work with the constraints (for example, regular warfare wouldn't really work).Ĥ - Fallujah : Although it's a performance hog and it could use an update, there's just no other map like it! It's the map that just forces you to use appropriate tactics, otherwise you'll get chewed up in no time.ĥ - Zargabad : Essentially a much smaller (and smoother running!) Fallujah with more attention to detail and a more interesting countryside.Īltis - It's got bits of everything, and it's huge, hill country, flat plains, a couple of small islands, every building can be entered.

You've got swampy mangroves, heavy (and I mean it!) industrial districts, a couple of docks, one sprawling town, and a massive military air base along with some areas where nature mingles with man-made structures. I can't remember the names, but there is a bay giving on a military base that's just so beautiful and a mountain village that is perhaps the most gorgeous in the Arma-verse), but I think it's often under-appreciated because of the setting (greek island).Ģ - Chernarus : An absolute classic and for good reasons, the setting and the balance of the different zones (forest, urban, rural) are just perfect.ģ - Sugar Lake : Perhaps slightly incomplete (the map edges are an eye-sore, some areas have a little too much repitition, and some have barren plots of land), but oh-so-unique and interesting map based on the marshy coastal regions of Florida. 1 - Altis : Chock-full of detail and variety, there are just so many unique features and settlements (ex.
